Why Integrate Training Now Offers Retreat-Style Learning and Day Retreats

Over the past few years, I have noticed something shift in almost every group I teach.

Coaches, practitioners and therapists  are arriving more tired, more time pressured, and closer to their limits than ever before. Their clients tell similar stories. The pace of life has increased, and so has the strain on our minds and nervous systems.

For more than a decade, the team at Integrate Training has focused on developing the knowledge and skills of those who support others.

We have trained new coaches, practitioners, instructors and teachers and offered ongoing professional development for those already in practice. That work continues. But it has become increasingly clear that our professional growth cannot be realistically sustained without attention to self-care, regulation, and rest.

Being effective as a coach, practitioner or teacher requires more than technical skill. It requires presence. And presence depends on a regulated nervous system. When we are balanced and rested, our clients feel it. When we are depleted or distracted, they notice that too.
This recognition is what led to the development of our retreat-style learning. It is not a new syllabus, nor is it a change in what we teach. It is a change in how we support your learning.

Learning by Experience

In retreat-style learning, participants are invited to learn through experience rather than theory alone. We engage in the same practices we encourage our clients to explore: breathwork, restorative movement, mindful reflection and then pause to consider what we notice. We explore how these practices influence our own regulation and energy and how that informs our work with others. This approach is not about taking time out from learning; it is about learning in a way that restores. It is an approach that recognises that sustainable practice comes from integration, not endurance.

Retreats for Your Restoration and Balance

Building on this approach, Joanna Harper and Integrate Training now also offer half and full day retreats.

The focus is on accessible movement, restorative breathwork, and time away from the pressure to be productive. It is an opportunity to step out of the constant pace of life and return to it with renewed balance and clarity.

We also offer shorter opportunities to pause and reconnect.

Our half-day online retreat provides a brief but powerful reset for those who have completed our Fundamentals training or attend our regular classes.

Our two-day Fundamentals retreat, delivered online and once a year in person by the sea in Eastbourne, UK, combines learning, practice, and reflection in a setting designed to support deep rest and learning.

These retreats are not an optional extra. They are a necessary response to the increasing fatigue and emotional load carried by those in the helping professions. They create time to reflect, to recalibrate, and to remember that the quality of our work depends on the quality of our presence.
Caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. When we restore our balance, we serve more effectively.

Integrate Training continues to offer professional certification training and professional development courses.

What has evolved is our understanding that learning and restoration belong together.
