The lasting impact and ripple effect of the pandemic and escalating war and global refugee crises made the importance of being a trauma-informed society urgent. Coaches and Practitioners are more effective and safe if they are trauma-sensitive, trauma-informed and skilled.
This course has been written and developed with unique coaching models and strategies by our trauma-skilled, certified and experienced lead trainer Joanna Harper. To meet the increasing need for a deep understanding of this multi-layered, complex and highly sensitive subject.
During NLP Practitioner, IEMT Practitioner, and Coach Training there is little or no time or scope within the syllabus to explore the impact of trauma on an individual in any depth or detail, and how Trauma and sub-clinical PTSD may present in a one-to-one session or the workplace.
The impact of past trauma can be concealed or disguised as a habit or behaviour, for example, the client may make an appointment for help with insomnia or alcohol dependence.
This three-session content-rich workshop is intended for IEMT and NLP Practitioners, Coaches, and Therapists who want to know and learn more about the impact and effect of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder on clients.
Joanna Harper is the author of the book: The Trauma-Informed Coach: Strategies to support clients when their past prevents progress, available to order from Amazon, WH Smith and Waterstones. A signed copy can be ordered directly from Joanna.
This book is an ideal companion to the training course.
Feedback about the quality of the experience, online training delivery, and content has been excellent so this training remains virtual and live online.

What people say about this course:
“Many thanks for an interesting and absorbing course. Over the three days, you gave us all a very comprehensive account of current thinking and resources relating to trauma coaching. I feel more confident in shaping my own approach to conflict coaching and am inspired to try out some additional techniques and resources now that I have a better idea as to how they fit within the therapeutic framework.” CA, UK Mediator, NLP Practitioner and Coach. – Trauma-Informed Coach training course participant.
“I just want to thank you for the last three days. It’s been inspiring and interesting, and so many lightbulb moments I’ve lost count. I’ve left today feeling revitalised and knowing that I need to make some changes personally to help me professionally. I’m going to have a look at the skills audit and see what I need to focus on.” JC, UK. Service Manager. – Trauma-Informed Coach training course participant.
“I can’t recommend this course enough. Far too many people can’t deal with clients with trauma. Joanna Harper will lead you on a voyage of Discovery & help you learn.” AP, UK, Coach and Advanced IEMT Practitioner – Trauma-Informed Coach training course participant.
”There aren’t many comparisons to Joanna as a ‘gold star’ trainer of trauma-informed coaching. Her training is well informed by many years of client work. It’s content-rich and up-to-date. This course is a ‘must have’ for any professional who is committed ‘to do no harm’. As a breathwork specialist myself, I particularly appreciated the fact that Joanna is aware of conscious bias and is explicit about inclusion and diversity in the examples she draws on. Joanna rebalances euro-centric training content by being mindful of cultural and minoritized perspectives and experiences. This is priceless in an ever-growing field of ‘trauma-informed’ trainers.” DP, Breathwork specialist and Coach – Trauma-Informed Coach training course participant.
~ Joanna is an experienced therapist, practitioner, and trainer; she is currently researching for an MSc. dissertation in Integrated Health and Social Care focusing on trauma, emergent trauma theories and techniques.
