About Joanna Harper

IEMT Trainer Joanna Harper, Msc., will share with you over a decade of IEMT client experience. Case studies from clients who report measurable, lasting positive changes following IEMT sessions. Joanna’s Master of Science dissertation is – A Comparative Evaluation of Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) Methodologies.

Joanna includes IEMT skills and principles in her Integrative Coaching style case studies in her book – The Trauma-Informed Coach: Strategies to support clients when their past prevents progress.

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) – is a developing area of rapid change work that explores the area of undesired emotions and our ways of being. The process explores the question, “How did we learn to feel the way that we do?” and opens up the possibility of creating the appropriate change in our emotional lives. By teaching resources and skills inside the problem state, IEMT appears to bring the client more into the present moment and enables them to better stay out of past negative experiences.

“Practitioners consistently report that IEMT has created change in their clients where no other approach has worked previously.” Andrew Austin – IEMT Developer.

Explanation of Precautions when Participating in Breath-Body-Mind™ Programs *

Welcome to the Breath-Body-Mind™ Workshop. You will learn ancient and modern techniques to relieve stress and improve physical and mental well-being. The practices are safe for most people. Nevertheless, some people may experience physical discomfort, particularly if they have had recent injury or surgery, joint pain, back pain, muscle pain, or a very sedentary lifestyle.

BBM practices can be done gently, sitting, or lying down if necessary. Listen to your body. If you experience physical discomfort, stop, relax, and tell one of the instructors.

Sometimes during the practices, emotions emerge, such as sadness, worry, or anger. Usually, such feelings are mild to moderate, short-term, and easy to manage. However, if you experience intense or disturbing emotions during the practices, please ask one of the instructors for support and guidance. If distress persists, ask the instructors for advice before continuing.

Please consult your personal physician if you have had recent surgery, uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent heart attack, or difficulty breathing before doing these practices. Breath-Body-Mind instructors may need to modify some of the practices for individuals with certain physical or emotional issues.

Please inform the staff at the time of registration and the instructors ahead of time if you have any of the following conditions: bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum, panic disorder, flashbacks or dissociation, acute or severe asthma, moderate to severe chronic obstructive lung disease, recent coronavirus with residual cough or airway sensitivity. If you have post-coronavirus airway sensitivity, you may need to do the breath practices more gently and avoid forceful breathing.

Also, please notify the instructors if you are pregnant. Pregnant women can benefit from Coherent Breathing. However, they should avoid breath holding, forceful breath practices, and lying on their right side (3rd trimester).

The practices being taught in this workshop are not intended to be a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment of any specific condition. If you suspect that you have a physical or mental condition, please consult your personal physician or primary healthcare provider.

fI hereby agree to the following:
1. That I am participating in the Breath-Body-Mind™ Workshop offered by Joanna Harper, Konika Shanker, Dr. Richard P. Brown and Dr. Patricia Gerbarg, during which I will receive information and instruction about movement, breathing, and meditation practices for health. I recognize that movement and breath practices require physical exertion that may be strenuous and may cause physical injury or emotional release. Having read the Explanation of Precautions listed, I am aware of the risks involved.

2. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to and regarding any condition that might preclude or prevent my participation in the Breath-Body-Mind™ Workshop. I represent and warrant that I have no medical condition that would preclude or prevent my participation in the Breath-Body-Mind™ Workshop.

I have read the above explanation of risks and I fully understand its contents. I voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions stated above.
